Ed Templeton

Found this video of skater, painter, photographer, hoarder Ed Templeton on The Fox Is Black (a site I'm constantly re-visiting for creative inspiration and Kitsune mixtapes).  I'm highly envious of Templeton's work spaces, junk drawers, library and art collection. I bet he's a wonderful cook as well. Interview with the artist and more artwork on fecalface.

saving grace

Saving Grace brunch last week with my masters of architecture friend. It's a rare occurrence getting together with her and this meeting left us both feeling blissfully stuffed and appreciative of our friendship. Our meal consisted of fresh juice (ginger pear was the best), an americano each, a super fresh quesadilla with potato and salad and banana pancakes with coconut praline. Sweet and savoury perfection.
Final image is the Saving Grace business card on top of Korean stamps courtesy of Katie from thank you, ok.

Love is all x 2

(I think I would like to watch Spirited Away, having seeing this video.)

In the spirit of the day, I present two wonderful song selections, of the same title, about looove.
Tonight my dinner was directly inspired by my cousin who advised me yesterday to "eat something chocolatey" in keeping with valentine's day traditions. Naturally I spent the majority of today in a trance thinking about pancrepes with nutella for dinner. I call them pancrepes because this recipe is simple and forgiving like a pancake but thin and eggy like a crepe. I free-handed some blueberry maple syrup too. Also threw a sad sausage on the plate for breakfasty points.

recent indulgences II

Predominately lettuce-y sandwiches have the best crunch. Pair it with an thin crepe-y omelet, avocado and HP sauce and you've got a munchy, spicy, eggy wonder in your hands.
Boil up some gnocchi and toss it around with parsley, homemade tomato sauce (frozen in individual servings - Nigella, you da bomb) and grated parm. Easy, easy, easy.
Fruit salad all day everyday. Whatever I have on hand goes in the bowl.
My current kitchenish situation. Barely enough room for me in there.

shift

Blue Valentine has turned me off of relationships indefinitely. I will become a gray, celibate old woman because I am convinced, based on past experience and the believability of the film, relationships are nothing more than a world of pain.
Yet the film has blown the dust off my lost, but not forgotten, love for Grizzly Bear.
Above, I present a track I never knew existed before the traumatic experience that was seeing Blue Valentine. I am currently in a committed (and I suppose open) relationship with this song and many others, especially those on the Friend EP.  L+GB=♥
What are your thoughts on Blue Valentine?

recent indulgences

Avocado pasta sounds strange but this meal was extraordinary and super quick.
Omelets are the perfect home for steamed veg and goats cheese.
Grapefruit in salad is one of my favourite things in the world. Add some fried halloumi and life is perfect.

mary, mary quite contrary

Mary Lennox has always been my kind of girl. My favourite excerpt from The Secret Garden sparked me to christen this virtual extension of my being "slow blood".
