pat's homestyle

Jerk chicken, curry goat, rice & peas, coleslaw and a side of plantain. Don't get the coconut water with chunks, not refreshing.
I can't wait to go back.

recent indulgences IV

Lentils, beans and rice - a staple combination in my diet.
Soup I threw together. Peas, radicchio, chicken, white beans, kidney beans & buttered toast.
A nice green chickeny sandwich.
Something so delicious. Recipe from Smitten Kitchen found here.
Blackberry, blueberry and apple cobbler for breakfast, with plain yogurt, banana and a sunny window.

another day, another dress

Another Value Village alteration! This time featuring a super cute peplum skirt and keyhole back. What a find. Thought I'd also show what a good hair day I'm having.
Pink Floyd - Summer '68 because it's going up to 7 degrees today.

the bellevue with ma

My experience at The Bellvue with mother was underwhelming. My expectations were a bit high as this was the review I read. I didn't order bacon, I ordered sausage, and mom had a hair on her plate (rage). Maybe this place is best enjoyed in the summer? $4 mimosas & baked-in-house apple pie were the highlights of the meal. At least it was a sunny photo opportunity.

Beans on the table are a result of mother's aggressive eating habits.

i want more valerie chiang

Oh Joy! directed me to the painterly photographs of Valerie Chiang. Morning discoveries are the best! I want to be in that forest.

new loves: kurt vile & matias aguayo

Stumbled upon Kurt Vile on my last visit to Pitchfork. Baby's Arms is my fave track off his new album Smoke Ring for My Halo.

Thank you Fox Is Black, I am in love with Matias Aguayo, he's got the hips (and the face) to make a girl swooooon.

adieu hoof

Our farewell-to-the-hoof-cafe brunch. Two good looking buds, a very pretty nail colour, bone marrow to start and spot prawns & grits. (Should have ordered the tongue grilled cheese, drat!)

recent indulgences III

First image is grandma's cooking, resuscitated.
You can throw anything on a plate, sprinkle some fleur de sel on it and have a hearty meal. Never fails.
As of late, I have been enjoying a fried egg on most meals.
Cobbs Bread baked these scones and let me tell you, the date variety is the best.
I love when I can take pictures in daylight.

new streets and new alterations

Please enjoy the sounds of the new Streets album while enjoying these photobooth images of a top gear Value Village dress alteration. My favourite part is the bow tie, it reminds me of my mother.
Isn't daylight the best?
